President Paudel Says Buddha’s Teachings Essential for Lasting Peace and Prosperity
Kathmandu– President Ram Chandra Paudel has said that lasting peace and sustainable prosperity can only be achieved by putting the values of non-violence, friendship, compassion, and wisdom into daily practice.
Speaking at the Diamond Jubilee celebration of Hiranyavarna Mahavihar Taremam Sangha in Nagbahal, Lalitpur, President Paudel said the teachings of Gautama Buddha based on peace, coexistence, the middle path, and compassion can help guide the world toward stability, cooperation, and mutual trust.
He said that Buddha’s teachings have become even more relevant at a time when the world is facing growing challenges such as conflict, selfishness, moral decline, intolerance, and the weakening of human values.
President Paudel stated that Buddha’s message continues to bring peace, happiness, and harmony to people around the world. He also said Nepalis should feel proud that Nepal is the birthplace of Buddha, who is globally respected as a symbol of peace.
The President stressed the importance of following Buddha’s teachings to strengthen tolerance, social harmony, and national unity among Nepal’s religious, social, and cultural diversity.
He further noted that the Buddhist philosophy introduced by Siddhartha Gautama has spread across the world. According to him, principles such as the Four Noble Truths, dependent origination, and the Noble Eightfold Path continue to show humanity the path toward freedom from suffering.
