Remittance Inflows Surge 38.2% to Rs 2.12 Trillion in First 11 Months of FY 2025/26
Kathmandu- Remittance inflows to Nepal increased significantly during the first 11 months of the current fiscal year 2025/26 (FY 2082/83), according to the latest Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation Report released by the Nepal Rastra Bank.
The report shows that remittance inflows rose by 38.2 percent year-on-year, reaching Rs 2.12 trillion by the end of mid-June (Jestha).
In the month of Jestha alone, Nepal received Rs 203.89 billion in remittances, compared to Rs 176.32 billion during the same month of the previous fiscal year.
The central bank also reported that net secondary income (net transfers) reached Rs 2.321 trillion during the review period, up from Rs 1.669 trillion recorded in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, the number of Nepali workers obtaining new final labour approvals for foreign employment, both through institutional and individual channels, stood at 367,211 by the end of Jestha. Similarly, 355,735 workers received renewed labour approvals during the same period, reflecting the continued importance of foreign employment and remittances to Nepal’s economy.
