TechPaaila Innovation launches Cybersecurity and AI Courses for Nepali students
Kathmandu- TechPaaila Innovation has announced a strategic partnership with NCC Education UK to provide international-level courses in Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Data Science to Nepali students studying in grades 11 and 12. The new program will allow students to study globally recognized IT courses directly from their schools and colleges in Nepal.Speaking at a recent product launch event, tech expert and Associate Director of TechPaaila Innovation, Chiranjibi Adhikari, said Nepal’s growing IT sector is facing a major shortage of skilled professionals. He said Nepal’s IT industry is growing by 20–25 percent every year, but nearly 70 percent of companies still struggle to find qualified workers. According to him, Cybersecurity, AI, and Data Science are no longer optional subjects but essential skills for the 21st century.
Under the partnership, three major courses will be introduced: Cybersecurity to protect digital systems and infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence (AI) to prepare students for the future AI economy, and Data Science to help students analyze information and make better decisions. These courses are recognized in more than 50 countries worldwide.TechPaaila has also introduced a “Zero Setup Cost” model for schools and colleges. The company will provide certified instructors and a modern Learning Management System (LMS), reducing financial pressure on educational institutions. The certifications are expected to help students pursue higher education opportunities in countries such as the UK, USA, and Australia, including credit transfer opportunities at more than 70 universities.
Chief guest Rajendra Malla said Nepal’s IT and AI sector has doubled in the last three years, growing from Rs. 70 billion in 2023 to Rs. 140 billion today. He said the sector could generate income faster than hydropower and help prevent young people from leaving Nepal for low-paying jobs abroad. He also stressed the need to expand technology education beyond urban areas and into rural communities.Shaligram Parajuli said the government should focus equally on policy, infrastructure, and human resource development to support Nepal’s digital future. He added that IT and AI tools can help address the younger generation’s main concerns, including employment, good governance, and prosperity.Similarly, Ramhari Silwal praised the collaboration between TechPaaila Innovation and HISSAN, saying the initiative would help transform young people from technology users into creators. Bigyan Shrestha also said the program could help Nepal become a global technology hub by preparing Nepali youth to compete in the international market.
