The body shop opens second outlet at Labim Mall
Lalitpur: International beauty and skincare brand The Body Shop has expanded its presence in Nepal with the launch of its second outlet at Labim Mall, Pulchowk, Lalitpur.

The new store was officially inaugurated on Thursday by the United Kingdom’s Ambassador to Nepal, Rob Fenn, during a special ceremony held in the capital.Speaking at the event, Ambassador Fenn highlighted The Body Shop’s longstanding commitment to animal welfare and environmental conservation. He noted that the London-founded brand has now reached environmentally conscious consumers in Nepal, a country renowned for its natural beauty, rich biodiversity, and iconic landmarks such as Mount Everest.
“The arrival of The Body Shop in Nepal sends a positive message about collective responsibility towards protecting animals, nature, and the environment,” he said.
Saru Aryal Pradhan, Managing Director of The Body Shop Nepal, said the company decided to open a second outlet following the encouraging response from consumers since the launch of its first store in Durbar Marg in 2021.She explained that The Body Shop is more than just a beauty brand. Established in London, the company is known for producing beauty and skincare products based on organic ingredients while promoting ethical business practices. According to Pradhan, the brand supports women from low-income rural communities around the world by sourcing organic raw materials and prioritizing women’s employment opportunities.

“The Body Shop is committed not only to beauty and business but also to protecting the rights of all living beings and promoting environmental sustainability,” she said.
Pradhan added that the brand’s products are made using naturally sourced ingredients grown without harmful chemical fertilizers or pesticides, making them beneficial for skin and hair care. She noted that both Nepali and international customers who have used the products continue to seek them out because of their quality and effectiveness.She encouraged consumers to experience the products firsthand rather than relying solely on promotional materials, emphasizing that their use contributes to fair opportunities for disadvantaged women while supporting animal welfare, climate action, and environmental protection.

Also speaking at the event, Milan Dev Bhattarai of Gate Paper Industries, a long-time partner of The Body Shop, said Nepal has been supplying packaging paper boxes for The Body Shop products and that the partnership has continued for the past 37 years.The opening of the new outlet marks another step in The Body Shop’s expansion in Nepal, reflecting growing demand for ethically sourced and environmentally responsible beauty products among Nepali consumers.
