Kathmandu – Competition in Nepal’s electric scooter market is growing, with TVS Orbiter and Bajaj Chetak 2501 entering as new affordable options. Both scooters are priced at Rs. 281,900, but differ significantly in design, range and features.
The Chetak 2501 features a retro-modern design with a 2.5 kWh battery offering up to 113 km of range. It comes with a 2.2 kW motor, front disc brake, digital console, Bluetooth connectivity, hill-hold assist and 25 liters of storage.
The TVS Orbiter, meanwhile, offers a more modern and practical design. Its larger 3.1 kWh battery provides an IDC range of up to 158 km, while the 2.5 kW motor delivers a top speed of 68 km/h. It also features navigation, cruise control, hill hold, anti-theft technology, regenerative braking, reverse parking assist and 34 liters of storage.
At the same price, the Chetak 2501 may appeal to buyers looking for retro styling and a front disc brake, while the TVS Orbiter stands out for its longer range, larger storage and extensive smart features.
