Kathmandu – The powerful M-Hero 1 Electric SUV, manufactured by Chinese automaker Dongfeng, has arrived in Nepal ahead of the NADA Auto Show 2026.
MAW Vriddhi has brought the SUV to Nepal for display at the 18th edition of the auto show, scheduled to begin on Bhadra 9 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
With its bold design, the M-Hero 1 resembles vehicles such as the Hummer and is positioned as a premium electric off-roader capable of competing with models like the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Its major highlights include extreme off-road capability, high power output and a luxury-focused interior.
The SUV is powered by four electric motors producing a combined 800 kW, or around 1,088 hp, along with 1,400 Nm of peak torque. Despite weighing around 3.5 tonnes, it can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
Dongfeng has equipped the M-Hero 1 with a 142.7 kWh battery, offering a claimed WLTP driving range of around 450 km on a full charge.
Designed specifically for difficult terrain, the SUV comes with air suspension and a standard ground clearance of 240 mm, which can be increased to around 330 mm when required. It is also capable of travelling through water up to 900 mm deep.
The vehicle offers dedicated off-road driving modes for surfaces including sand, rock, mud and water.
Inside, the M-Hero 1 features a large infotainment display, digital instrument cluster, three-spoke steering wheel and distinctive pistol-shaped door handles.
Although the SUV will be displayed at the NADA Auto Show 2026, commercial sales in Nepal are expected to begin only from January 2027, meaning interested buyers may have to wait several more months before deliveries begin.
