‘Visit Nepal-2025’: China encourages tourists to explore Nepal
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Sun Weidong, paid a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today at Singha Durbar.

The two leaders explored mutual interests, concerns, and cooperation during their discussions. Prime Minister Prachanda expressed gratitude for China’s support in Nepal’s socio-economic development. He emphasized Nepal’s goal to upgrade from least developed country status by 2026 and sought continued assistance from China to achieve this milestone.
In response, Vice Minister Sun announced China’s initiative to promote ‘Visit Nepal-2025,’ aimed at encouraging Chinese tourists to explore Nepal, thus boosting its tourism sector. This initiative coincides with the 70th anniversary of Nepal-China diplomatic relations. Vice Minister Sun reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Nepal’s socio-economic development.
Vice Minister Sun is on a three-day official visit to Kathmandu to participate in the Sixteenth Meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism, scheduled for June 25.
