‘Wind from the North of the Valley’ Photo Exhibition debuted with the Speaker of the House of Representatives as the Chief Guest
The “Wind from the North of the Valley” photo exhibition in Nepal showcased captivating imagery by photographers from Gansu, China, marking a vibrant inauguration today (25 Mar 2024, Monday). The event took place at Patan Museum, Patan Durbar Square starting from 8:45 AM. The organizers were the China Gansu Modern Photography Society and the Nepal-China Cultural and Educational Council. Likewise, the supporters were: the Nepal-China Friendship Forum (NCFF) and the National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ).
Attendees were presented with a captivating display of photographs showcasing the beauty of the landscapes, people, and traditions, against the backdrop of cultural exchange. The admirable presence of Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nepal, added significance to the event, emphasizing the role of art in fostering cross-cultural understanding and diplomacy.
Magar praised the photographers for going beyond boundaries at the exhibition. It aimed to connect people from different places and cultures. Each photo showed a glimpse of human life, from beautiful landscapes to daily moments. The artwork “Wind from the North of the Valley” showed how art brings people together and inspires them, regardless of their origin or language.
At the event, Vice Chairman Wang Jian Xin of the Gansu Modern Photography Society emphasized that the exhibition showcases the diverse landscape, history, culture, and daily life of Gansu Province. He also expressed hope that the exhibition will strengthen the relationship between the people of the two countries and promote cultural and tourism exchanges.
Likewise, Pradeep Raj Onta, President of the National Forum of Photo Journalists, and Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma, President of the Nepal-China Friendship Forum, praised the exhibition’s potential to boost tourism and foster relationships between Nepal and China.
