WorldLink Communications has launched “Data World,” Nepal’s largest data center, in Chandragiri, Kathmandu. With a 3.5MW IT power capacity and 520 racks, it is Nepal’s first Tier-3 and Edge-certified green facility. The earthquake-resistant, carrier-neutral center aims to enhance internet speed, reliability, and security.
WorldLink plans to invest NRs. 3 billion to establish 14 data centers nationwide, with the Kathmandu facility being the largest. Finnfund has invested €10 million to support digital expansion, while a partnership with Nokia will further improve network performance. The data center is expected to boost cloud computing, AI, and machine learning, strengthening Nepal’s digital infrastructure.
