Kathmandu – Laminar Tiles, Nepal’s pioneering fully vitrified tile manufacturer, has launched its latest collection, Monolith Digital FullBody, at the Nepal Buildcon International Expo 2026, marking a first-of-its-kind innovation in the domestic tile industry.
The Monolith collection has been introduced as a next-generation architectural surface inspired by elemental natural forms such as limestone, sand, ash, slate, and obsidian. Designed to combine visual minimalism with long-term performance, the collection addresses durability challenges commonly associated with conventional glazed tiles.
According to the company, while glazed tiles are prone to surface wear that reveals contrasting body colour over time, traditional fullbody tiles offer limited design variety. Monolith Digital FullBody bridges this gap by combining digitally printed design versatility with the structural integrity of fullbody tiles, enabling consistent aesthetics and extended lifespan in both residential and commercial spaces.
Building on Cento, Nepal’s first domestically produced fullbody tile collection, Monolith advances Laminar’s digital full-body technology. The tiles are available in Matt Carving, Granular Matt, and Grit Textura finishes and achieve PEI Class V wear resistance, Mohs 6+ scratch resistance, and R9 slip resistance, making them suitable for high-traffic and demanding environments such as wet areas, exteriors, and public spaces.
The launch ceremony, held at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, highlighted Monolith as a milestone in Nepal’s growing capacity to manufacture internationally certified ceramic products, reducing reliance on imported tiles. Laminar recently received NS 617:2082 certification in January 2026, classifying its tiles under Fully Vitrified Group B Ia, the highest national performance category.
At the expo, Laminar is showcasing all seven of its existing collections along with Monolith. The company’s full portfolio of over 400 tile designs is available at the Laminar Experience Centre, Uttardhoka, and through more than 160 authorised dealers across Nepal.
Speaking at the launch, Mr. Ashutosh Khetan, representing Laminar Tiles, stated that the Monolith collection captures the timeless elegance of natural stone while delivering structural reliability for high-demand applications. He noted that the tiles are suitable for commercial spaces such as airports, shopping centres, hotels, hospitals, and offices, as well as residential areas including living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, balconies, pool areas, and façades.
The introduction of Monolith Digital FullBody tiles positions Laminar as the only domestic manufacturer offering advanced fullbody technical ceramics in Nepal.
