Harka Sampang demands home Minister to clarify Fewa lake land allegations
Kathmandu-Social media is abuzz with debates over the Fewa Lake land controversy in Pokhara, especially after tourism entrepreneur Karna Shakya claimed his property is legal and accused Pokhara Metropolitan City of demolishing structures without prior notice.
Adding to the discussion, Home Minister Sudan Gurung confirmed that his own property at Fewa Lake was also demolished, but emphasized that it was done legally, sparking further confusion and online debate.
Amid the controversy, Harka Sampang, chairperson of the Shram Sanskriti Party and MP, urged Minister Gurung to clarify allegations linking his name to 20 ropani of land at Fewa Lake. Sampang suggested holding a press conference, calling it a matter of ethics, and warned that ignoring the issue could erode public trust and weaken the minister’s authority, including among the police.

Sampang also reminded Gurung not to overlook other key issues raised in Parliament, including action against those responsible for the Gen Z protest incident and the cooperative fraud case involving GB Rai.
The Fewa Lake land issue continues to dominate social media discussions, with public demand for transparency, accountability, and clear communication growing stronger.
