Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 on April 11: “From the Sideline to the Spotlight” promotes confidence, inclusion, and empowerment
Kathmandu-Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 is set to take place on Saturday, April 11, at Club Platinum, Durbar Marg, starting from 6:30 PM. Organized by Nirmala Foundation, the event carries the powerful theme “From the Sideline to the Spotlight,” aiming to celebrate confidence, resilience, and representation.
Speaking at a press conference held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, President of Nirmala Foundation, Nirmala Bhandari, shared that the event is not just a fashion show but a meaningful platform and a transformative journey for participants. It is designed to empower individuals with limb loss by enhancing their confidence, personality development, and overall growth.
Unlike a one-day event, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 includes a two-week preparation program featuring grooming sessions, personal development training, and awareness on prosthetic limb care and management. These activities aim to equip participants with practical knowledge and confidence to navigate daily life more independently.
Organized during Limb Loss Awareness Month in April, the event seeks to spread the message that individuals using prosthetic limbs can fully express themselves through fashion, identity, and creativity without limitations.
This year’s runway will feature 12 participants from diverse backgrounds, including amputee football players, banking professionals, and individuals active in social sectors. Notably, players preparing for the upcoming Amputee Women’s World Cup, along with athletes who have participated in the Asia Cup, will also be part of the show.
Participants will walk the runway in both designer outfits and football jerseys, demonstrating that prosthetic limbs are not a limitation but a symbol of strength, identity, and resilience.
The event will also be supported by Miss Nepal International for Glam World Nandani Sama, Miss Nepal International Europe Somu Pun, and Miss Nepal International Asia Susmita Shrestha. The choreography will be led by renowned fashion choreographer Bishal Gurung, while model, singer, and actress Puja Lama will serve as a judge.
According to the organizers, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 aims to promote equality, inclusion, and empowerment in society. It challenges conventional beauty standards and highlights that beauty goes beyond physical appearance—it lives in courage, determination, and self-belief.
More than just a runway, Amputee Runway Nepal 2026 is a celebration of confidence, a voice for representation, and a powerful declaration: “We are capable too.”
