Over 107,000 Tourists Arrive in Nepal in April 2026
Kathmandu: More than 107,000 tourists visited Nepal in April 2026, according to data released by the Nepal Tourism Board on Monday.As per the statistics, a total of 107,934 foreign tourists arrived in Nepal during the month.
Region-wise, the highest number of visitors came from South Asia (SAARC countries), with 33,432 arrivals, accounting for 31 percent of the total. This was followed by 26,726 tourists from other Asian countries. Similarly, 21,988 tourists arrived from Europe, 5,898 from Oceania, 2,518 from the Americas, 1,697 from West Asia, 315 from African countries, and 15,360 from other regions.In terms of individual countries, India remained the largest source market, followed by China. Tourist arrivals from other Asian nations, Europe, and the Americas have also been gradually increasing, indicating that Nepal’s tourism market is expanding from reliance on a single source to multiple markets.
Country-specific data shows that the highest number of tourists came from India with 15,196 visitors, followed by China with 11,722 and Bangladesh with 5,231 arrivals.For comparison, Nepal had welcomed 116,490 tourists in April 2025, while 109,399 tourists visited in April 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemicHowever, rising conflicts in West Asia have recently disrupted air connectivity and affected international promotion efforts, which appears to have slightly impacted tourist arrivals in April.To boost tourism numbers, experts suggest strengthening digital marketing efforts and implementing additional plans, programs, and strategies to promote Nepal as a safe and attractive travel destination.
