Second South Asia Trade Fair 2026 kicks off in Kathmandu
Kathmandu– The second edition of the South Asia Trade Fair 2026 has officially begun at the Bhrikutimandap with the aim of promoting regional trade, business partnerships, and service opportunities among South Asian countries.
The trade fair, being held at the Exhibition Road complex, features participation from entrepreneurs and business groups representing Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. The event will continue until May 11.
The fair was jointly inaugurated by ambassadors, industrialists, and business leaders from participating countries.Organized by Introduction Trade Shows Nepal, the exhibition is being conducted in collaboration with Bangladesh’s Ministry of Industry and Export Promotion Bureau, with support from Bhutan’s Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment.
Organizers estimate that more than 5,000 entrepreneurs and traders from the SAARC region, along with over 100,000 local visitors, will attend the event. Country-specific pavilions showcasing products and services from across South Asia have been set up at the venue.

According to fair coordinator Suman Maharjan, the exhibition includes displays of handicrafts, indigenous food products, ready-made garments, beauty products, furniture, agricultural goods, information technology products, household appliances, electric vehicles, and various consumer items.Organizers believe the trade fair will help promote export-oriented products, explore market opportunities, strengthen buyer-seller relationships, and expand regional trade cooperation among South Asian nations.
