Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal Set to visit India following RSP Chair Lamichhane’s return
Kathmandu-Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal is set to visit India shortly after the return of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane from his ongoing visit to the neighboring country.During Khanal’s visit, discussions are expected to focus on issues of mutual concern and priority between Nepal and India.
According to RSP lawmaker Deepak Bohora, who was present during the meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSP Chair Lamichhane on Wednesday, preparations are underway for the foreign minister’s visit. However, the exact dates have yet to be finalized.Lamichhane is scheduled to return to Nepal from New Delhi the day after tomorrow.
On Wednesday, Lamichhane held talks with Prime Minister Modi for more than an hour. Earlier, on Tuesday, he met with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and several senior leaders of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).Following Lamichhane’s return, Foreign Minister Khanal is expected to travel to New Delhi, where he will represent the Government of Nepal in meetings with his Indian counterpart Jaishankar and other senior officials.The visit is expected to further discussions on bilateral relations and areas of cooperation between Nepal and India.
