Nepal Oil Corporation Resumes Distribution of Full-Weight LPG Cylinders from Today
Kathmandu: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has resumed the distribution of full-weight Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders across the market starting today.
The corporation has decided to reintroduce the standard 14.2 kg LPG cylinders for consumers. Due to supply shortages caused by tensions in the Middle East and a resulting gas crisis, NOC had been distributing half-weight (7.1 kg) cylinders since the last week of Falgun (late February/early March).
After nearly four months, consumers will once again receive full-weight LPG cylinders. According to NOC spokesperson Manoj Thakur, the decision was made after a stable supply of 100 LPG bullets (tankers) per day from India was ensured.
The half-weight cylinders will remain available in the market for a few more days until existing stock is exhausted. The retail price of a full-weight 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has been set at NPR 2,060.
