Kathmandu – South Korean automaker Hyundai has unveiled the fifth-generation Tucson, introduced as a 2027 model with a completely redesigned exterior, larger cabin and upgraded technology.
The new Tucson arrives six years after the previous generation and adopts a more boxy and rugged design. Its front end features a black grille, a slim full-width light bar and vertically positioned daytime running lights based on Hyundai’s “H-edge lighting” concept.
At the rear, a full-width light bar stretches across the tailgate, accompanied by vertical red lights, Hyundai branding and the Tucson name.
The new model is also larger than before. It measures 4,700 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width and 1,685 mm in height, with a 2,785 mm wheelbase. Compared with the previous model, it is 60 mm longer, 40 mm wider and has a 30 mm longer wheelbase.
The increased size provides more interior space, including improved rear-seat headroom. The rear doors can also open up to 83 degrees to make entry and exit easier.
Inside, the Tucson features two large digital screens integrated into a single frame, combining a digital instrument cluster with a large infotainment touchscreen for navigation and media. The cabin also includes a two-spoke steering wheel with physical controls, ambient lighting and light-colored upholstery.
Hyundai will offer the new Tucson in eight exterior colors, including five new options. A more rugged XRT trim will also be available for buyers looking for a more adventurous appearance.
Hyundai has not yet revealed full engine specifications, but the model is expected to continue with both hybrid and non-hybrid powertrain options.
