Kathmandu – Burger Group has expanded into Nepal’s hospitality sector by launching Hotel Melung in Nautale, Boudha, after 11 years in the restaurant business.
The tourist-standard hotel marks the group’s entry into accommodation services as part of its broader investment plan for the hotel and restaurant sectors.
Burger Group founder Basant Lama said the hotel aims to serve domestic travellers and international tourists, particularly visitors arriving from Myanmar, Bhutan, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, India and Kalimpong.
Located near Tribhuvan International Airport, Pashupatinath Temple and Boudhanath Stupa, the hotel is positioned to serve religious and cultural tourists visiting Kathmandu.

The hotel covers 17 aana of land and features 22 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and a garden. It also has parking space for around 15 four-wheelers and 20 two-wheelers.
The group has invested approximately Rs 30 million in preparing the hotel, excluding the value of the land and existing building. The property has been leased for 10 years.
Lama said the hotel will promote Nepali cuisine and tourism by prioritising locally produced ingredients.
Burger Group currently operates 152 outlets across Nepal under brands including Burger House, Melung Thakali, Melung Mart and Cafe Hundred. The launch of Hotel Melung extends the group’s food-service experience into the wider hospitality industry.
