Everest Spring ascent route to summit successfully opened
Kathmandu-The route to the summit of Mount Everest has been successfully opened for this year’s spring climbing season, according to the Expedition Operators Association of Nepal.A team of experienced climbers involved in fixing ropes reportedly reached the summit earlier today at 10:25 AM under the leadership of Mingma Temba Sherpa. The team was responsible for installing fixed ropes above Camp II, a crucial task each climbing season that enables safe ascent for other mountaineers.
With the rope-fixing work now completed, climbers will begin their summit attempts based on favorable weather conditions, using the newly installed fixed lines.This season faced early challenges after the traditional route through the Khumbu Icefall became blocked. However, the “Icefall Doctors” successfully reopened the passage, allowing rope-fixing teams to continue their work above Camp II.
Authorities report that 492 climbers have already obtained permits for this season’s Everest expedition, marking one of the highest numbers in recent years. Revenue from Everest climbing royalties alone has exceeded 1 billion rupees, reflecting the mountain’s continued global significance.Mount Everest remains one of the world’s most closely watched and challenging climbing destinations, attracting international attention every year during the spring season.
