Kathmandu – Just a short flight from Dhaka lie the Himalayas, ancient temples and some of the world’s best trekking trails. This week, Nepal is making sure Bangladeshi travellers know it.
A Nepali team of 15 tourism companies, led by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), is taking part in the Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2026 in Dhaka to promote Nepal tourism in Bangladesh. According to NTB senior officer Prem Prasad Bhattarai, the team is introducing Nepal’s mountain views, cultural heritage, adventure tourism and wide range of travel experiences to Bangladeshi visitors, while building tourism and business ties between the two countries.

The three-day fair began on Thursday at the Carnival Hall of the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka, under the theme of AI-based tourism and sustainable destinations. At the Nepal pavilion, natural beauty, authentic culture, trekking, mountaineering, spiritual tourism and adventure activities are the main attractions.
The fair offers two kinds of opportunities. Through business-to-business (B2B) meetings, Nepali companies can build partnerships with Bangladeshi travel agents. Through business-to-consumer (B2C) interaction, they can speak directly with travellers and encourage them to choose Nepal for their next trip.

Ahead of the fair, the NTB and the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka jointly organised a Nepal Tourism Promotion Programme on October 28 under the slogan “Nepal is Calling: Visit, Explore, Experience”. Held at the InterContinental Dhaka, the evening featured a B2B session between tourism businesses, a presentation on Nepal’s tourism and a cultural performance.

The board sees Bangladesh as an important source market for Nepal. Geographic closeness, cultural similarities and easy regional connections make the country a natural fit, and the NTB has made its promotion a priority.
The campaign also aims to change how Bangladeshi travellers see Nepal. Beyond mountains and trekking, the board wants to present Nepal as a year-round destination for culture, heritage, wildlife, spirituality, and health and wellness tourism.
Inviting Bangladeshi travellers to experience Nepal’s natural and cultural diversity, the NTB said it will continue business partnerships and market promotion to further strengthen tourism ties between the two neighbours.
