Nepal’s Department of Immigration Grants Visa Relief Amid Curfew
Kathmandu – The Department of Immigration (DOI), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, has announced temporary visa relief measures for foreign nationals affected by recent developments in Nepal.
Foreign nationals whose visas were valid until September 8, 2025, and who are required to depart during the ongoing curfew period, will now be granted visa regularization and exit permission without incurring additional fees. These services will be available at immigration offices at the respective points of departure.
In addition, the Department has made arrangements for visa transfers for foreign nationals who lost their passports during this period and have obtained travel documents or emergency passports from their respective embassies. In such cases, visas will be transferred according to existing regulations, and visa regularization and exit permission will be provided directly at the concerned immigration office.
The Department of Immigration emphasized its commitment to minimizing inconvenience for foreign visitors during this period and ensuring smooth compliance with immigration regulations.
