New Hyatt Regency to open in Lumbini
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is set to expand its presence in Nepal by announcing a new Hyatt Regency hotel in Lumbini. This strategic move marks the fourth Hyatt-branded property in the country, solidifying Nepal’s importance in Hyatt’s growth plans for Southwest Asia.
Situated along the serene Dano River, the upcoming Hyatt Regency Lumbini will offer convenient access to iconic landmarks such as the Mayadevi Temple, the Gautam Buddha International Airport, Butwal, and the Nepal-India border. The 11-acre property will feature 175 well-appointed guest rooms, a diverse range of dining options, versatile event spaces, and a host of amenities including a fitness center, spa, outdoor pool, and entertainment facilities.
Hyatt has partnered with Veda Hospitality Private Limited, part of the Golyan Group, to bring this luxurious hotel to life. Dhruva Rathore, Vice President of Development for India and Southwest Asia at Hyatt, emphasized Nepal’s growing significance in the region’s hospitality landscape. He highlighted Lumbini’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage, making it an ideal destination for travelers seeking authentic experiences.
Akshay Golyan, Managing Director of Golyan Group, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating that the Hyatt Regency Lumbini aims to elevate Nepal’s hospitality standards and showcase the cultural heritage of Lumbini.
The Hyatt Regency Lumbini is scheduled to open its doors by 2028. With this addition, Hyatt’s portfolio in India and Southwest Asia will expand to 52 properties, including two in Nepal, under various renowned brands like Andaz, Alila, Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, and Grand Hyatt.
