Tragedy strikes Nepal: 19 Dead, 25 injured in bus accident
Among those killed were three foreign nationals — one each from the United Kingdom, China and India, officials said.
Dhading — At least 19 people were killed and 25 others injured after a passenger bus traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu plunged into the Trishuli River in Dhading district early Monday, local authorities said.
The bus veered off the roadway and fell approximately 200 metres down to the riverbank, according to the District Police Office. Rescue teams recovered 19 bodies from the scene, while 25 injured passengers were pulled from the wreckage and taken to hospitals in capital for treatment.
Among those killed were three foreign nationals — one each from the United Kingdom, China and India, officials said.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to form a probe committee to investigate the crash following a high-level meeting chaired by Om Prakash Aryal, officials said.
