Two Armed Police Force Women Personnel Make History by Summiting Mount Everest
Kathmandu – Two female personnel from Nepal’s Armed Police Force Nepal have created history by successfully summiting Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Nim Dikki Sherpa and Assistant Head Constable Anita Karki reached the summit on Saturday morning, marking a historic achievement for the organization.
According to available information, Anita Karki reached the summit at 10:20 AM, while Nim Dikki Sherpa successfully completed her ascent at 11:55 AM.
They have become the first women climbers from the Armed Police Force Nepal to scale Mount Everest. Their success is being viewed as a powerful symbol of women’s participation, capability, and leadership within the security organization.
Born in Mabu of Sandakpur Rural Municipality in Ilam district, Nim Dikki Sherpa, and Anita Karki, a national-level fencing player from Chuchure of Gokulganga Rural Municipality-1 in Ramechhap district, demonstrated remarkable courage, discipline, and determination, the Armed Police Force stated.
Both climbers are considered highly skilled in mountain rescue operations and high-altitude expeditions. Previously, they had successfully climbed Chulu Far East and Lobuche East.
During the Everest expedition, Nim Dikki Sherpa was guided by Sherpa Nima Sange Sherpa, while Anita Karki was assisted and guided by Tashi Gyalzen Sherpa.
The Armed Police Force Nepal expressed confidence that this historic achievement will further inspire women empowerment, self-confidence, and leadership development within the organization.
