Bagmati province revises public transport and taxi fare rates effective from tomorrow
Kathmandu-The Bagmati Province government has updated the fare structure for public transportation operating within the province. The new rates apply to vehicles running inside the Kathmandu Valley as well as services connecting Kathmandu with other areas of Bagmati Province.
According to the provincial government’s official gazette, the revised fares will come into effect from tomorrow. The fare for distances up to 5 kilometers has been set at NPR 24, while 10 kilometers will cost NPR 33. Similarly, the fare for up to 15 kilometers is NPR 39, and for 20 kilometers it is NPR 44. For distances beyond 20 kilometers, the fare has been fixed at NPR 50.
In the case of taxis, the minimum starting fare has been set at NPR 58, with an additional charge of NPR 12 for every 200 meters traveled.
For long-distance routes within the province starting from Kathmandu, the highest fare has been set at NPR 1,218 for the Kathmandu–Kalanki Petrol Pump–Ratmate Nagdhunga–Dahachok–Khurkot–Manthali–Tamakoshi–Jiri route. The lowest fare is NPR 60 for the Kathmandu–Kalanki Petrol Pump–Ratmate Nagdhunga–Dahachok route.
The provincial government has the authority to set intra-provincial transport fares, while inter-provincial fares are regulated separately by the federal government.
