Drinking water prices increased
Kathmandu-The price of drinking water has been increased as the Nepal Bottled Water Association has decided to adjust the rates of processed drinking water. The association stated that it has become difficult to continue operations at previous prices due to a significant rise in the cost of raw materials and transportation.
In a press statement issued today, the association mentioned that the prices of key materials used in the industry, including bottles, caps, wrapping rolls, jars, and jar caps, have risen by nearly 40 percent. At the same time, the increase in petroleum prices has further pushed up transportation costs.
According to the association, recent international developments, particularly tensions between Iran and Israel and the evolving relationship between Iran and the United States, have affected global markets and supply systems, directly impacting water industries in Nepal.
