Wishbone Day 2026: Raising Hope for Fragile Bones
Kathmandu-Observed every year on May 6, Wishbone Day is dedicated to raising awareness about Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a rare condition that makes bones extremely fragile. Living with OI means facing constant uncertainty, where even the smallest movement or accident can result in fractures and pain. Beyond the physical challenges, it also brings emotional struggles, moments of fear, and the need for continuous care. Yet, despite these hardships, individuals living with OI continue to show remarkable strength and resilience in their daily lives.
For many affected individuals and their families, the journey is not an easy one. There are times when the burden feels overwhelming, and moving forward alone seems impossible. In those moments, support, understanding, and compassion from others become incredibly important. Knowing that there are people who care, who listen, and who stand beside them can make a meaningful difference, helping to ease their struggles and bring comfort during difficult times.
Even the smallest acts of kindness—raising awareness, sharing their stories, or simply offering empathy—can help create a brighter path. These gestures not only bring hope but also empower those living with OI to continue their journey with courage and determination. On Wishbone Day 2026, everyone is encouraged to stand together, spread awareness, and support those affected, because every effort counts in building a more understanding and inclusive world.
