Nepal Medical Council Launches Online Complaint and Grievance Portal
Kathmandu – The Nepal Medical Council (NMC) has launched an online platform to receive complaints, grievances, and suggestions from the public.
Acting Registrar Dr. Dipendra Pandey said the new portal, named “Hello NMC,” has been introduced to make it easier for both the general public and registered doctors to submit complaints and feedback online. With the launch of the “Hello NMC” portal, members of the public and registered medical practitioners will no longer be required to visit the Council’s office in person for routine grievances. Previously, service seekers from remote areas often had to travel to Kathmandu for minor issues, resulting in additional time and expenses.
The Council noted that the existing complaint process against doctors had been cumbersome, making it difficult for the public to lodge grievances. Through the new portal, complainants can now file complaints either by revealing their identity or anonymously. In the past, it was also difficult for complainants to track the status of their cases or disciplinary proceedings. Under the new system, a unique tracking number will be generated automatically after a complaint is registered, allowing users to monitor its progress.
Complainants will also receive regular updates on the status of investigations or disciplinary actions via SMS and email.Registered doctors can log in to their personal accounts at doctor.nmc.org.np to submit grievances, while members of the public can register complaints by clicking on the “Hello NMC” portal available on the Nepal Medical Council’s official website, www.nmc.org.np.
