China Southern Airlines expansion brings good news for Bhairahawa and Pokhara
China Southern Airlines has shown interest in expanding its flight operations to Bhairahawa and Pokhara’s international airports. Representatives from the airline conveyed this during a meeting with Badri Prasad Pandey, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation on Thursday.
The airline, which currently operates direct flights from Kathmandu to Guangzhou and serves over 40 countries, expressed its enthusiasm to begin flights to Pokhara and Bhairahawa. The airline representatives also commended the Nepalese government’s efforts in policy reforms aimed at enhancing flight operations to these destinations.
Minister Pandey welcomed China Southern Airlines’ proposal, emphasizing the potential benefits for both the tourist city of Pokhara and Bhairahawa, the birthplace of Lord Gautam Buddha. He noted that the expansion of flights would foster bilateral interests and strengthen mutual relations between Nepal and China.
The Nepalese government is keen to support such initiatives, which are expected to boost tourism and enhance connectivity, contributing to the broader bilateral relationship between Nepal and China.
